ABOUT WOODSIDE PARK STUD

Woodside Park is a world-class thoroughbred operation which consists of three magnificent properties; the stud and pre-training farms, both located in Tylden and Seymour Park located in Seymour.

The Tylden farms were developed by Peter Rowsthorn in 2007, with no expense spared, the farms are nothing short of amazing. From the front gates, through to the back paddocks, here at Woodside Park we are extremely proud of our state of the art facilities and landscape.

Peter's son Mark Rowsthorn took over management of the business in early 2013, upgrading the bloodstock interests of the stud and opening the pre-training division.

That year Woodside Park secured Australian Champion First Season Sire, Written Tycoon, who has continued to dominate the Victorian sire ranks – named 2015/16 Champion Victorian Sire.

Mark also made it his priority to attend the broodmare sales throughout Australia and Europe, constantly adding quality mares to the resident broodmare band.

Towards the end of 2013 a revolutionary deal was made between Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley and Woodside Park in securing dual Group One winning colt Zoustar. The deal sees Zoustar shuttle interstate, where he will stand alternate years in New South Wales and Victoria.

More recently a similar deal was done with Written Tycoon’s best three-year-old, Rich Enuff. The handsome bay colt will shuttle between Glenlogan Park, Queensland and Woodside Park.

We look forward to standing all three stallions at Woodside Park Stud in 2017.

The breaking-in and pre-training division located around the corner from the stud has quickly become the first choice of many of Australia’s leading stables and owners providing horses the best start to their racing preparation.   

More recently Woodside Park has taken over the management of Seymour Park, 500 acres of quality pasture, ideal for growing and preparing bloodstock.
